    Description

RAILROAD-SOUTHERN PACIFIC/NORTHWESTERN PACIFIC - "CHRISTMAS WEEK STORM DISASTER"
"The Christmas flood of 1964 was a major flood in the United States' Pacific Northwest and some of Northern California between December 18, 1964, and January 7, 1965, spanning the Christmas holiday. Considered a 100-year flood, it was the worst flood in recorded history." Offered today is a brochure dated 2-65 that captures the extensive photographs of the damage from the storms which struck Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. "Pushed by cyclonic winds, the storms raged almost continuously from December 18 to January 7." The brochure is approximately 8" by 9" and contains 23 pages of black and white photographs with explanations.
