The bungalow at Longview farm, in Jackson County, Missouri, is an efficient example of a classic Bungalow design, perfect for a narrow lot. Though compact it still has comfortably large rooms with an easy flow of space from the front to the back of the house. And of course, there is the generous front porch that makes bungalow homes so comfortable.
The original drawings were beautifully delineated in 1979. This set of 2 drawing sheets includes 2 floor plans, a roof plan, front and side elevations. The original drawings rest in the Library of Congress.
As a work of art these prints are worth purchasing in their own right. For those of you interested in building a historically inspired house, these plans offer an excellent starting point. The first floor has a large Living Room, opening off this a Dining Room, and moving towards the back, a Kitchen with Breakfast Area. There are also 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on this floor. A staircase leads to the attic, lit by large and small dormers as well as windows on each side. The attic could easily be arranged to create a study/home office at the stair landing, a bathroom, a walk-in closet and a comfortably sized Master Bedroom. Although ideal for a flat site, these plans would also work on a moderately sloping one. This house is ideally arranged for a narrow city lot, though it would be equally comfortable in a suburb or country setting. Including porches, the main house has outside dimensions of approximately 24’x59’.
Please visit my other auctions for many other drawings I am offering. I have house plans in wide variety of styles including Colonial, Craftsman, and Prairie, as well as plans of architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Irving Gill, Purcell & Elmslie and others.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BUILD:
These plans are not complete architectural drawings as might be required by your local permitting agency and do not contain all the structural, waterproofing and other details and information necessary for construction. But your local builder or architect should be able to adapt these drawings and add to them as necessary. What they do provide is accurate design information about a REAL historic house, not a pseudo-historic tract house as you will find in the house plan magazines on your supermarket shelf.
    INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE:
Orders shipped to addresses outside the USA may be subject to customs duties at their destination. The buyer is responsible for any such duties.
The original drawings from which these dimensionally accurate scans were made are kept at the Historic American Building Survey, in the Library of Congress.
