    Bankers Life Company had a life insurance sales campaign in 1940. Agents who reached a certain quota of new accounts were awarded with these bookends in the design of the company headquarters. According to the name plates, this particular set was presented to agent J.D. Finley. The bookends consist of a copper-coated metal miniature Bankers Life building on a solid wood base. They measure about 6-3/4" long, 3" wide, 4-1/4" high. They have new felt backing on the bottom of the base. One of the name plates appears to have been cleaned at some time. The other name plate appears to have its original patina. The bookends are in good condition overall, except for a few small spots where the copper coating has come off

    . There are also a few nicks in the metal, mainly at corners
