The New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad was a railroad that operated in the northeast United States from 1872 to 1968. Commonly referred to as the New Haven, the railroad served the states of Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Its primary connections included Boston and New York. For sale is a very nice brochure, promoting "Pilgrim Tours" on the New Haven to New England and Eastern Canada. The brochure is for the year 1953 and appears aimed towards the New York City-area resident. The first section describes passenger amenities on the New Haven. . Each tour has a day-by-day itinerary. A brief 2-day tour includes a train ride from Grand Central Station to Boston, with touring and meals in Boston, shopping, and a return train to New York the second day (as low as .95, meals and hotel included). A 3-day tour is available to Nantucket Island (from .75, meals and hotel included). The more adventurous traveler could take a 10-day trip to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia (2.95, all inclusive)or a trip that included stops in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto and Niagra Falls (as low as 0.80).
